We can make the database file shared over the local area network or the internet.

How we do it ?

One of the ways used to make our access database shared over the network is using Link table manager.

1- put your datafile which contains the tables of your access application on a shared folder with appropriate sharing properties.

2-Open your application file that has the forms and other project objects.

3- From the File menu choose Get External Data, then choose Link Tables...

4- Specify the datafile that contains the tables; point to the file using network pointing from the file link dialog which apears.

5- Select the tables you want to make them shared by your application.

FYI: by changing the file extention from the file link dialog you may change the type of data file or server.
